The Scenic Route

There’s a taste for the fantastical in interiors this season, with Jane Churchill’s ‘Wildwood’ fabric from Colefax and Fowler a prime example. This nature-filled design is packed with detail, from a pair of courting peacocks to leaping hares, all wending their way through a landscape of trees, flowers, glades and pools.

The fabric was inspired by antique Indian paintings, which share its stylised approach to nature and attention to detail. A fresh colour palette emphasises the lighthearted feel, something that is echoed across the rest of the collection. ‘Roxton’ features stylised animals and Persian motifs, while ‘Blossom Tree’ is a pretty embroidered design with colourways including a playful hot pink and orange on aqua. There are also fresh checks, ginghams and stripes in various scales, alongside ‘Arlo’, a plain cotton in 60 colours.
