Kallista’s brassware elevates the everyday with the addition of hand-cut stones
If personality and personalisation are the watchwords in bathroom design, then Kallista’s 002 collection, the latest arrival at West One Bathrooms, is hitting the zeitgeist. It draws inspiration from a basic pill shape, stretching that idea across elegantly elongated taps and lever handles, while cross-shaped handles are inlaid with intriguing stones, in rose quartz (below left), zebra jasper (below right) or white Carrara marble.
Complementing the taps are thermostatic controls in the same style, as well as a range of accessories such as hooks and towel holders.
Kallista is a US brand that has always broken the mould, particularly with regard to materials. Existing collections feature tap handles in crystal, enamel and porcelain, elevating the everyday experience of bathing to new heights. Art and architecture are frequent starting points for a Kallista design: the Grid collection was inspired by the De Stijl art movement, reducing the taps and handles to a simple black outline, while architect Robert M Stern created the Central Park West collection to pay homage to New York’s art deco golden age of skyscraper design.
