Interior design practice Sims Hilditch has collaborated with Tim Page Carpets on a new rug design. Made from 100% jute, ‘Una’ is hand-woven using traditional techniques near Varanasi in India, and uses natural dyes, which has resulted in a soft natural palette across four colourways: terracotta and flax, clay and cedar, graphite and cedar, and fern and umber.
With its striking geometric pattern, ‘Una’ is designed to be versatile, working across many styles. “Creating a layered interior is an important part of our design ethos,” says Sims Hilditch’s founder, Emma Sims Hilditch (above left, visiting the Tim Page Carpets showroom to launch the rug). “Tim Page has helped us to create a collection that would work equally well in a room with antiques as with contemporary art.” The rug is available in bespoke sizes up to 4m wide, and the pattern can also be adapted for use as a stair runner.
