Movers & Shakers
Bigger and better: showrooms on the move, and growing in stature
de Le Cuona
Known for its top-quality textiles in natural materials, including linen, wool and alpaca, de Le Cuona has expanded into an adjacent showroom in the North Dome. The space is full of tactile fabrics that demand to be seen and touched to appreciate their drape and handle. There is also upholstered furniture, accents and accessories, as well as the recent Life collection of travel and fashion accessories. The company’s bespoke team, which makes made-to-measure curtains and other soft furnishing projects, is now based here, too.
“Being involved in many design centres around the world I can honestly say that Chelsea Harbour is leading the way in what interior designers want,” says founder Bernie de Le Cuona. “Our footfall was increasing and the space we had was no longer sufficient to give our clients the experience they have come to expect from de Le Cuona. When the showroom next door became available, I jumped at the opportunity, and as a result, we are now able to really focus on our core interior design business in the heart of this decorators’ community.”
Fabricut London
North Dome showroom Christian Lee has relocated to Design Centre East, which also coincides with a rebrand. It will now be known as Fabricut London, better reflecting its offering as the UK’s exclusive distributor for Fabricut USA – one of the largest and most eclectic distributors of decorative fabrics in the world. The new space will serve as a creative hub for designers and architects, offering an inspiring space to explore a curated selection of Fabricut’s vast collections, including beautiful embroidered fabrics, plains, wallcoverings, trimmings and a fabulous leather sample wall.
Jensen Beds
Driven by increased demand, Jensen Beds has relocated to a larger space in the South Dome. The move means there’s now more room for Jensen Beds’ Norwegian-made products, including beds, bedroom furniture andaccessories. Features such as interactive displays and dedicated consultation areas all help enhance the process of selecting one of the most important purchases that can be made for the home. Stop by to talk to one of the knowledgeable team about how you can have a more comfortable, healthier night’s sleep.
Nobilis
Nobilis has revamped its South Dome showroom, with a design that aligns its interiors more closely with the Parisian flagship of the French decorating house. The redesign was helmed by Nobilis’ artistic director Éric Valero, and there is an emphasis on light, luxurious materials, including elegant pale wood detailing and a travertine floor. New collections include the bright and breezy Nausicaa, designed for outdoor use: ‘Alhama’ (pictured) is inspired by Coptic textiles from Egypt, while ‘Borneo’ features soft velvet palm trees on a woven herringbone background.
August + Co
Change is in the air at August + Co, which has had a recent redesign to accommodate some major new incoming fabric brands to add to its stable: Perrine Paris, which makes exquisite handloomed textiles; Alicante’s Alhambra Fabrics; and Métaphores, part of the Hermès group of companies. The showroom retains its gallery-like feel, while space at the rear has been reimagined to allow designers to engage with materials in a collaborative space. Pictured is ‘Oasis Lapis’ (above left) and ‘Équipage’ and ‘Canopée’ (above right), part of the tactile, textured new L’Échappée outdoor collection from Métaphores.
