Meet the Showroom: August+Co
Get to know this new multi-brand space in the North Dome
Iolanda Martinho and Vincent Pennetier founded August+Co in 2023, deliberately describing their showroom as a “gallery” to elevate the status of the fine craftsmanship within it. Brands to be found within the space include Scottish-made textiles from Johnstons of Elgin, playful fabrics and wallcoverings from Claire de Quenetain and furniture from Pouenat. Here, Martinho explains why August+Co chose the Design Centre, and the philosophy that underpins the many brands on show.

What brought August+Co to Design, Centre, Chelsea Harbour?
August+Co was drawn to the Design Centre due to its prestigious reputation as a hub for design excellence. The centre’s vibrant community and focus on excellent interiors align perfectly with our brands. Having worked in the building for many years before going solo, we also appreciate the support from our neighbours, which is so important to us!

What should we expect from the showroom?
It is an immersive experience. Designed by us and supported by our friends, it exudes elegance. Visitors can expect a curated selection of furniture, lighting, tapestry weave, textiles and more from all our brands combined, showcased in stunning vignettes. Additionally, our space boasts an extensive collection of samples, allowing customers to explore textures, finishes and materials first-hand.
Why should people visit in person as opposed to looking/buying online?
It offers a tactile and sensory experience that cannot be replicated online. Designers can fully immerse themselves in our products, experiencing their quality and craftsmanship. We are on hand to provide advice and guidance, fostering a deeper connection with our partners.
