Avant-Garde Geometry

New to Altfield is James Malone Fabrics. The British designer has been based in Spain for many years, and his work is heavily influenced by Spanish, English and Moorish looks. The results are charming, combining the strength of the Spanish aesthetic with a strong sense of geometry. ‘Gloria’, pictured here, is a dramatic jazzy design printed on cotton velvet. The pattern was inspired by a coat made for actress Gloria Swanson in 1924 by avant-garde artist and fashion designer Sonia Delaunay.
