COLLECTING AT CHRISTIE’S

Tuesday 9  Thursday 11 April 2024

Demonstrating how rare antique objects can redefine and enhance an interior, a special pop-up exhibition on the First Floor, South Dome will present a curated selection of works from two upcoming sales at Christie’s in London.

Captivating collectors, enthusiasts and interior designers seeking unique pieces to transform a space, the three-day event at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour will be the place for visitors to discover art, antiques and collectables from Christie’s, the world-leading auction house internationally recognised for its unparalleled expertise in art and luxury.

Featuring exquisite works of historical and aesthetic importance, the pop-up exhibition will underline the breadth and depth of collecting opportunities with highlights from two sales from the world’s leading art business. They include The Collector, an international platform dedicated to the decorative arts from the 16th to the 20th centuries, held across three online auctions in London, New York and Paris (10 – 25 April). It will feature superlative works of English and European furniture, porcelain, silver and gold boxes, many with rich and distinguished provenances. Selected pieces from Art of the Islamic and Indian Worlds including Rugs and Carpets live auction (25 April) will complement the display.

With auctions spanning over 70 categories, ranging from antiquity to contemporary, the offering promises to suit all tastes, interests and aesthetic preferences.
