Rediscover Collage
During Focus/15 stylist Alice King has created a special collage aptly titled ‘Cutting Edge’. Hand-cut and created layer upon layer, it wittily showcases new seasonal designs, while photographic images reflect the Design Centre’s busy atmosphere. There is a decorative coherence about the montage as figurative forms, patterns and colours are orchestrated across the whole surface. The commonplace is awarded the same significance as the iconic. Architectural details are shown side by side with familiar motifs such as an embroidered flower or a geometric shape. Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, keen to foster to art and creativity, presented the work in the Designer Walkway connecting the domes to Design Centre East. Use it as a navigation tool to guide you to beautiful products, superb materials, ace workmanship and artistry in the showrooms.
