Design Centre Stories

Molecular Gastronomy

The Tatler Restaurant’s chic space in the North Dome picks up on London Design Week’s Science of Design theme, from the seven feet tall terrarium planting to the materials palette, inspired by a traditional chemistry lab, with dark wood and burnished metals. The layout is centred around a sociable curvy bar, where diners can enjoy a brasserie menu that includes tuna Niçoise salad and chicken Milanese. On the walls are some of stand-out new wallcoverings: ‘Venus’ by Thibaut (from Jacaranda Carpets), a swirling pattern that calls to mind a strata of semi-precious stone, and Arte’s ‘Combine’, a bold chevron. Designed down to the last detail, the aprons are based on ‘Metric’ by Arte, a bold graphic print.
