Earning its Stripes

De Le Cuona’s ‘Rugby’ fabric is the winner of London Design Week 2020’s esteemed Showstopper award from The World of Interiors. Part of the Maverick collection, the striped Italian linen is inspired by the classic rugby shirt.

Founder Bernie de Le Cuona describes Maverick as a brave departure for the brand: “It takes de Le Cuona in unexpected colour directions appealing to a more modern lifestyle. An eccentric spirit lies behind this new palette, but the colourways are designed to work with our stable of classics.”

The World of Interiors selected four highly commended places alongside the top accolade, and editor Rupert Thomas visited Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour to deliver the awards in person. Andrew Martin’s ‘Constantinople’ panoramic wallcovering, ‘Akira’ fabric by Old World Weavers from Turnell & Gigon, Poliform’s ‘Nara’ table and GP & J Baker’s ‘Pomegranate’ fabric won the highly commended awards.
