A new Armani Casa wallcoverings collection has landed at Altfield. Made by Milanese design house Jannelli&Volpi, Precious Fibers 3 incorporates materials such as silk, lurex and velvet, creating an opulent mood while also maintaining Armani’s signature style of minimal elegance.

The collection has a romantic side to it – all of the products are named after operas or ballets, and their storylines are woven through the wallcoverings themselves. Pictured above is Bayadère, which has a pattern of branches and pomegranates printed on Indian silk; the 19th-century opera it is named after tells the story of a young Indian dancer and her ill-fated love for a noble warrior.

Bayadère is the boldest of the designs, with others focusing on subtle texture and pattern, and the beauty of the materials themselves, to give them a compelling presence. ‘Coppélia Seta’ (above left) gives a trompe-l’oeil effect of draped fabric, while ‘Loreley’ (above right) is described as “an ikat effect in macro scale” and uses the traditional technique of fil posé to achieve the look of a textured fabric.
