Budding Designer?

To encourage creativity among children who may be away from school for several months, Pierre Frey has launched a competition for those aged 3-12 years to create their very own wallpaper – and 25 winning designs will go into production.

Open to the children of the company’s customers, employees and distributors, the “Draw Me a Wall” competition will benefit the Fondation de France, which supports children in danger of dropping out of school.

Entries close on 30 June, and once a shortlist has been made, the final judging will be done in September by a prestigious panel that includes a representative from France’s Ministry of Culture. When the designs are launched in autumn 2021, 10% of sales will also go to the Fondation de France. Click here for an entry form.

Paolo Moschino for Nicholas Haslam Ltd has also been encouraging little ones to create for a cause. For a £10 donation to the NSPCC, children were able enter a competition to design something with the theme of “patterns of spring”. The winning entry will be worked up by the product design team and added to the company’s collection, and 10% of its future sales will be donated back to the NSPCC.
