Designer Loves: Albion Nord
As part of its First Look initiative, the Design Centre asked top designers to choose their favourite products from spring/summer 21’s collections. Camilla Clarke of Albion Nord outlines her edit below – but first, here’s her take on colour, since First Look is curated as a series of tempting palettes.
Is there a colour you are consistently drawn to in your work?
I’m normally drawn to earthy tones and heritage colours as they have a lovely sense of calm and history to them. I love mixing muddy greens and deep chalky blues with fresh, neutral creams and whites.
What timeless colour should we all be embracing this year?
We should all be bringing a little bit of sunshine into our homes this year with warm yellows and pale pinks against timeless neutral tones.

- ‘Clam Shell’ wall light, Porta Romana: “Nature is a constant source of inspiration in our designs, and I’m always drawn to natural objects, shapes and materials. I’ve got my eye on this light, which would look amazing in a garden room or orangery”

- ‘Zinnia’ fabric, Clay McLaurin Studio at George Spencer Designs: “This pink fabric is irresistible! We are loving everything from Clay McLaurin at the moment. This fabric is such an uplifting colour with a lovely motif. It would look great on a headboard in a bedroom scheme”

- ‘Chesapeake’ dining chair, McKinnon and Harris: “Garden design couldn’t be important at the moment. I love the shape and colour of this outdoor dining chair and its woven rush seat. I’ll be looking to use this one for my own garden!”
