Naturally Opulent

Virginia-based Barry Dixon’s interior design projects are known for a look that blends southern charm with global influences from a childhood spent abroad: “My vagabond history had a huge effect on how I see the world, and how I mix things,” he says. This approach infuses his collection for Arteriors, inspired by the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the way that the natural world has been a historical influence on opulent design objects. This ‘Pagoda’ console featuring organically sculpted iron legs is paired with complementary ‘Pagoda’ stools and a delicately sculpted ‘Foliage’ mirror, which contains a shallow ledge at its base to display a candle or a precious keepsake.
