Corkingly Good

Casca wallcovering, made from cork, by Omexco

Omexco’s Casca collection (available from Lelièvre Paris) explores the beautiful qualities of cork, known for its natural warmth, sustainability credentials and acoustic properties. To these advantages can be added a surprising versatility, as the Belgian brand has found a myriad ways to use the material: ‘Cas 71’ (above) is a panoramic design that includes an over-printed abstract design, with gold linear accents that add a touch of luxe. ‘Cas 25’ works mulberry bark into large-scale checks (below left) while ‘Cas 61’ (below right) features geometric shapes and a metallic sheen.

Omexco has two further collections launching for SS23: Birds of Paradise takes you to the tropics with fabulous florals, luscious leaves and beautiful birds; while Loom Stories are plain but beautifully textured wallcoverings made from hand-spun yarns including fine Belgian linen and wild silk, exuding artisanal excellence. As the brand likes to put it: “We don’t cover your walls, we make them stand out.”
