Duo from Ceccotti Collezioni shows what can happen when two titans of Italian design work together. While Ceccotti Collezioni is known for the exquisite craftsmanship that goes into its furniture – often pushing the boundaries of what it is possible to achieve in cabinetmaking – Poltrona Frau is an acknowledged master of upholstered pieces, particularly in leather.
The two names have come together for this new capsule collection, marking the first chapter in a new collaborative relationship. Designed by Roberto Lazzeroni, the pieces take inspiration from the mid 20th century, but not slavishly so, and showcase the best of both brands’ skills, from the enveloping lounge chair, in softest leather with a dark ash frame, to the large curving sofa.
The ‘Duo’ cabinet, available in high or low versions, is a particularly special piece with a patchwork-like maple exterior and optional leather-lined interior drawers, while a floor lamp with a glass cone-shaped diffuser and a geometric rug in wool and silk complete the collection.
