Made at Focus/23

Focus/23 is where the practice of making comes to life, allowing visitors to peep behind the scenes and see how objects are made – and even try their hand at creating something themselves.

Across the week there were demonstrations and workshops that all brought the making process right to the heart of the Design Centre. Pictured clockwise from top left are: Collier Webb’s pattern maker Adam Pattison unveils the intricate techniques behind sculpting bespoke pieces; House Guest Hare’s Tail offered daily brock-printing demonstrations; hand-tufting a rug at House Guest Jaipur Rugs; creating custom paint finishes at Lincrusta, part of a session exploring the brand’s role in film and TV; Marvic Textiles’ designer Alice Young hand-paints designs from the new Les Palmiers collection; visitors gilded their own moth to take away at new Design Centre East showroom Tigermoth Lighting.
