Bois Sculpté is a new collection of wallcoverings from French decorating brand Elitis that could not be better named. ‘Sculpted wood’ is indeed what these beautifully textured walls look like – although, incredibly, they are embossed vinyl. Their manufacturing techniques have retained all the chiselled and scored detail of the original woodcarvings they are based upon, as well as the warmth and rich character of the knots and grain.
Pictured top is the curvy ‘Pignada’, while above (left to right) are ‘Nuit Cinétique’, ‘Silva’ and ‘Ramille’.
Elitis is known for its innovation when it comes to wallcoverings, and the rest of its spring/summer 2022 launches are equally unusual, with lacquered 3D printing and laser engraving used for the artistic and dynamic ‘Mouvements’, and natural materials such as raffia and abaca used to create rhythmic geometric patterns for ‘Merida’ and ‘La Caravane’.
