A New Place to Gather

Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour has a new, permanent restaurant in the Design Avenue – and visitors to London Design Week 2022 are the first to try it out. Design Restaurant by Social Pantry features an all-day dining menu offering everything from a healthy breakfast to informal lunches. Everything is prepared on site with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients and frequently changing menus.

The convivial space – crowned by a glorious flock of sculptural white swans suspended from the ceiling –  incorporates some of the latest launches from the showrooms. The wallcoverings are ‘Art Deco Fern’ by Iksel Decorative Arts, ‘Rochelle’ by AsterĂ© at Elitis and ‘Tokyo Sunrise’ by Voutsa at George Spencer Designs, with a Porta Romana ‘Crawford’ chandelier and paint from Sanderson in ‘New Silver’, ‘Owlswick’ and ‘Oxney Olive’.

Following the seasons closely, the menu celebrates seasonal organic vegetables and fruits, with a minimal use of red meat and a focus on conscious consumption. Dishes for London Design Week 2022 include Turkish eggs with confit garlic labneh, urfa chilli butter, herb oil and toast; corn-fed chicken, young turnips, leeks and poached mushroom sauce; and custard tart with forced rhubarb and hibiscus. They are complemented by a wine list from Liberty Wines.

The restaurant is set to be the perfect place for destination dining during a day of sourcing, long after the show is over.
