Frances Priest

Frances Priest is a pattern obsessive and lover of colour, exploring cultural histories and narratives of ornament though her studio ceramics and installations; her work is collected internationally and examples are included in the public collections of The National Museum of Scotland, The Fitzwilliam Museum and The National Museum of Scotland. In 2020 she became a QEST (Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust) scholar, training with heritage tile manufacturer Craven Dunnill Jackfield and creating a collection of richly patterned and glazed tile designs. Her recent work moves into the digital realm: motifs drawn from neo-classical architecture dance and evolve across an LED screen, driven by generative algorithm programmed in collaboration with digital artist Sam Healy.

Frances Priest is exhibiting as part of Future Heritage.
