Nicolò Castellini Baldissera

C & C Milano Salon

Nicolò Castellini Baldissera was born in Milan and belongs to an illustrious Italian design dynasty – his great-grandfather was the renowned architect Piero Portaluppi and his father is the prominent architect and co-founder of C & C Milano, Piero Castellini Baldissera. From a very early age he was surrounded by art and architecture.

In the late 1980s he moved to London to study history of art at Sotheby’s, and since then he has lived between Milan, London and Tangier, cities that have hugely inspired his work. His passion for northern Morocco led him to restore several derelict dwellings in the city, which led to the publication of a book, Inside Tangier; a follow-up, Inside Milan, has recently been published.

“I was delighted when C & C Milano approached me about this project – what a great opportunity to showcase Italian craftsmanship together with so many other exciting brands. I have designed a warm Mediterranean-inspired suite where we imagined a writer would go to find inspiration for his next book. The project gave us the opportunity to create a synergy between my Milanese heritage – strongly reflected in C & C Milano’s fabrics – and my love for Tangier and the Mediterranean”
