Watts 1874 Legend Room

Alidad’s journey as an interior designer started back when he was the youngest departmental director for Islamic works of art and textiles at Sotheby’s. He realised that his interest lay more in interior design – creating distinctive spaces using his knowledge and eye for antiques and textiles.

Alidad is now world-renowned for his opulent yet supremely comfortable interiors. Over the course of his career, his expansive range of projects have allowed him to develop an understanding of all styles and he is comfortable working in any style, from baroque to art deco.

“Watts has been so consistent for the past 150 years and really managed to stick to their look without compromising anything to fashion or trends – they’ve stayed true to their heritage. For my WOW!house room, the inspiration was a large scale renaissance design that was redrawn by pioneering architect and Watts founder GF Bodley in 1889. I have imagined that the room belongs to a traditional Englishman, who’s family have been living there a long time and he has added his own touches to it”
