Xena Kalouti focuses on the borderline between art, culture and architecture to produce designs exploring traces of heritage that have been absent from our everyday life. Xena’s design process draws on a reflective interrogation of identity’s malleable manifestations through varying times and places.
With its multiple edges and centres that attract the eye in a wandering movement, the mirror on show at Formed with Future Heritage invites its viewer to explore the unexpected. It keeps traditions of mastering old arts alive, tapping into the prodigal genius of humanity that can emerge when combining multiple materials, perspectives and hands.
