Miles + Abigail Ozora Simpson

Working from her Margate studio, Abigail Ozora Simpson makes hand-coiled ceramic sculptures. She exhibits on a regular basis internationally with Ralph Pucci in New York, with clients including Annie Lennox, Donna Karan and Saks 5th Avenue, along with some of the world’s leading interior designers.

Abigail is interested in the raw visceral properties of the clay and also in juxtaposition: groups of objects, their relationships, either coherent or non-coherent, and how the ancient history of ceramics can touch the possibility of pure sculpture. Her large sculptures are hand-coiled using coarse black, pink and white stoneware clays that are fired to a high temperature. At Formed with Future Heritage, Abigail is showing her first ceramic lighting and vessels, which are available exclusively from the Alexander Lamont + Miles showroom at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour. Every piece is unique.
