CONVERSATIONS IN DESIGN: HOSTED BY COUNTRY LIFE – WHAT DO WE HAVE TO LEARN FROM THE ‘80s?

16th March 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm GMT

Register to watch again

Lecture Theatre, First Floor, Design Centre East

Guest speakers: Rupert Cunningham, director of Ben Pentreath, Minnie Kemp of Kit Kemp Design Studio and Isabella Worsley, founder of Isabella Worsley Ltd

Chair: Giles Kime, executive & interiors editor of Country Life

The interior design of the eighties is offering a deep seam of inspiration to a new generation too young to remember it first-time round. Country Life brings together two interior designers and one architect – all with different approaches, but the same focus on good proportion, carefully considered colour palettes and distinctive styles – to discover why the aesthetics of this once-derided decade are back, and explore the enduring appeal of design legends such as David Hicks, John Stefanidis, Robert Kime, David Mlinaric and Anouska Hempel.
