Alexander Hoyle
Artorius Faber Entrance Garden
Alexander Hoyle is a London based plantsman and garden designer. The idyllic Cotswolds is where he grew up and where his love for plants blossomed. His work at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and Aberglasney, Carmarthenshire has instilled a lifelong passion for the English garden, which inspires his work today. This botanical training remains the solid foundation of his work and it is coupled with an interest in the decorative arts, particularly when capturing the romantic essence of a garden.
Alex’s design aesthetic is best described as the modern English country garden. It combines form and function, green architecture and floriferous planting with a style that is a little wild and fanciful with flair and zest: even at times, “a little camp”. Alex and his team create many gardens and planting schemes to suit different situations: small, but perfectly formed balcony gardens in the city to larger historic gardens in the country.
