Design Centre Stories

A Chair With Charisma

Creativity flourishes when great minds come together and nowhere is this more brilliantly showcased than throughout the finely calibrated creative partnerships that are often found within the showrooms at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour.

One such alliance, born of a mutual admiration, is the recent collaboration between furniture maker Ventura and Trinny Woodall, the founder and CEO of Trinny London and expert on all things make-up, skincare and style. It all began, rather serendipitously, when Ventura’s founder Arlene McIntyre created a pop-up in a Dublin townhouse for Trinny London’s Irish roadshow. Immediately struck by Woodall’s confidence and charisma, she was inspired to create a new design that reflected her personal style. The result is a feminine tub-style chair in dove-grey neutral linen with a bright yellow trim, which has now become part of Ventura’s collection. “We have created a smart and extremely comfortable armchair that will work well in both contemporary and classic interiors,” says McIntyre.

Ventura is no stranger to collaborating with well-known names, having recently worked with leading fashion designer Paul Costelloe on a capsule collection. This year, Sophie Stanbury will be putting her interior design skills to use across a number of UK projects for the successful Dublin-based company, which specialises in a turnkey service for projects across the residential and commercial sector.

Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour remains in support of all its showrooms, despite their closure during this time. Until restrictions are lifted, please contact each showroom directly for more information, or ask for help from the Design Centre’s Personal Shopping or Designer Sourcing Service.
