Creative Energy

Vaughan has joined forced with some of the industry’s most highly regarded names for the return of its Made in the Shade campaign, which benefits solar lighting non-profit Watts of Love. Kit Kemp, Beata Heuman, Veere Grenney and Susie Atkinson were among those asked to design a lampshade to complement their favourite Vaughan table lamp. Visit the showroom until the end of October to see the results, which include Susie Atkinson’s hand-crafted grey paper shade with hand-stitched detailing; Max Rollitt’s painted-ink shade inspired by Delft tile designs; and Alidad’s black textured silk shade, whose Greek key trim complements the classical base.

Vaughan has partnered with Christie’s for a worldwide auction of the shades, with bidding open until 21 October (bid here). All proceeds benefit Watts of Love, which provides solar technology and education to those living in poverty, helping some of the one billion people who live without electricity. In addition, for every social media post that uses the hashtags #vaughanXwattsoflove and #madeintheshade, Vaughan will donate $1 to Watts of Love.
