Nature Under the Microscope
New-York-based lighting designer Bec Brittain has turned her hand to rug design thanks to a collaboration with Edward Fields. The Taxonomy collection, available from Tai Ping, reflects Brittain’s love of scientific fields such as entomology and geology: abstracted motifs of lacy wings, mottled beetle-shells and layers of rock are as if the designer has put nature under the microscope.
Pictured is ‘Lamella’, inspired by the delicate shape of an insect antenna, fanned out against a delicate pink ground.
