Design Centre Stories

A Fresh Face

For the first time in its 81-year history, Marvic Textiles has launched a new brand, Studio by Marvic, which is billed as having “a contemporary, fresh and younger aesthetic,” alongside a more accessible price point. Two collections mark its debut: Azure focuses on small-scale, colourful prints and weaves that can work together as well as on their own, all inspired by the patterns and colours of Mediterranean ceramics, with the weaves suitable for both upholstery and drapery. Elements complements this with three plain linens in neutral, earthy tones, including ‘Mistral’ which has a matt, tumbled finish and the silkier, more lustrous ‘Sirocco’.

Interior designer Georgina Cave gave her verdict on these new collections as part of Focus/20’s virtual programme, alongside Marvic Textiles’ general sales director Simon Partridge. “How they work together is beautiful,” she said. “Mixing the different colours, textures, weights and patterns, it’s really gorgeous.”
