21 May Championing Collaboration
New to Gallotti&Radice, these ‘Monete’ and ‘Clemo’ tables are the work of Italian designer Massimo Castagna. Both show a flair for mixing playful design with sumptuous materials: ‘Monete’ is Italian for ‘coins’ and the table’s clever sculptural design resembles slotted-together pennies, with a burnished metal finish that’s unique to each piece, while ‘Clemo’ sits on short rounded legs and is pictured in brushed Ceppo di Grè, a rare stone known for its pebble-like surface – a natural version of its man-made cousin, terrazzo.
Castagna has worked with the brand before, and this year has also updated his curvy 2017 ‘Audrey’ sofa to create an extra-small version for compact living. Gallotti&Radice has unveiled many more exciting collaborations too, including lighting by StudioPepe, a table and dining chair by Oscar and Gabriele Buratti and a glossy lacquered shelving unit/room divider by Pietro Russo.
See the showroom’s Maria Teresa Barletta introduce all the key pieces as part of London Design Week 2021’s ‘Spotlight’ series.
