Good Works

A little more than a month after lockdown we find ourselves in a very different world. Interior designer Laura Hammett is supporting NHS Charities Together by giving away a bespoke, furnished and styled bedroom with a total value of over £35,000 to a lucky winner. Her reasons are profound and personal. “I wanted to come up with a way we could offer something back to those in need,” she says. “Having lost my own father to Covid-19, this has naturally made me even more motivated than ever to raise money for this cause.”

The designer will personally work with the winner to take a brief, assess the space and customise the design, seeing it through from concept to reality. She has reached out to her favourite makers and suppliers in the design community, including Phillip Jeffries, de Le Cuona, Chase Erwin, Dedar and Baker, all of which have donated products from their collections to help make the scheme happen.

For a chance to win, go to Laura Hammett’s Just Giving Page to make a minimum £10 donation to NHS Charities Together. Each £10 donated will count as an entry with potential to win. Due to the scale of the prize, it is limited to mainland UK, but people can show their support for those on the front line by making a pledge for an NHS worker or carer who would value a treat to win the prize. The winner will be selected at random at the end of April.
