An Adventure in Art

Interior designer Kelly Wearstler’s spaces are effortlessly glamorous yet retain a laid-back Californian cool, whether she’s designing her own stable of hospitality spaces, Proper Hotels, or an A-list celebrity home in LA.

Her latest collection of fabrics and wallpapers for Lee Jofa, available from GP & J Baker, has just been released, and includes reinterpretations of existing creations as well as brand-new designs. Many have a painterly appearance and were inspired by artistic movements: ‘District’ (pictured above left, on wall and top cushion) takes its cues from cubism and ‘Graffito’ (pictured above right, in chair) is, according to Wearstler’s website, “where fine art meets street art”. ‘Graffito’ is one of the designer’s most popular products, and this perennial favourite is now available in four new colours and as a wallcovering.

At the same time, Lee Jofa has released Wearstler’s Terra Firma II collection of performance fabrics. Suitable for indoors or out, they include (above, left to right) the smart diagonal-stripe ‘Zenith’, softy rhythmic ‘Wade’ and ‘Bandeau’, a graphic linear pattern.

Some showrooms have been and are engaging with their clients on an appointment-only basis, while still adhering to government guidelines.
