Flavours of the New Season

Designed by creative director Arabella McNie, the FT How to Spend It Restaurant at Focus/21 conjures up the feeling of an Indian summer with bold, bright patterns, and cascading flowers towering above its central bar.

The products incorporated into the scheme all showcase the latest design directions, and encapsulate the creative confidence that defines the new season. On the walls are ‘Rose Naissance’, a wallcovering from Papier Français, a new brand at Dedar that sources its heritage patterns from the archives of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. The fabrics for the banquettes are in ‘Iconic Texture’, designed by Iris Apfel for Fabricut at Christian Lee and ‘Boxgrove’ by Zinc Textile X MHD at Romo; while the paints used are Zoffany’s ‘Huntsman Green’ and ‘Serpentine’ and Andrew Martin’s ‘Norwegian Fjord’.

Diners have been enjoying a fresh, seasonal menu conceived by Last Supper, from breakfast pastries to sweet afternoon treats. Highlights include courgette carpaccio and cucumber flowers, pumpkin tortellini with sage butter sauce and steak haché on brioche.
