The Go-Anywhere Light

Collier Webb’s latest launch is a collection of portable, battery-powered lights made with the hospitality market in mind.

“In the past we’ve made many bespoke commissions for portable lights for private cinemas, yachts and luxury hospitality projects so it was an interesting dynamic to combine our traditional craft skills and the latest wireless technologies,” says Madina Gadzhieva, Collier Webb’s head of new product design, introducing the collection as part of Focus/20’s virtual programme. “They have the same high-quality craftsmanship of our other table lights, but with the convenience of being cordless.”

The collection of five lights features three new designs and two existing products that have been adapted to the new format, made in a more petite size, including ‘Mini Shitake’, pictured. “We modified the design to be suitable for bars, restaurants and outdoor dining, so the height is perfect for a table setting,” says Gadzhieva. Showcasing a variety of manufacturing techniques, from hand-spun shades to leather wrapping, casting and machining, the lights have a battery life of ten hours, and can be made in custom sizes and finishes.
