Rug Regeneration

Élitis has launched its second collection of accessories, which includes cushions, quilts and throws as well as these outdoor ‘Disco’ rugs. Available from Abbott & Boyd, they are made from 88% recycled PET, which includes post-consumer waste from plastic bottles. It gives each one a slightly different and irregular appearance, a uniqueness that is enhanced by the fact that they are finished by hand.

Recycled materials lend themselves well to flooring, and not just for outdoor products. Tim Page Carpets now supplies carpets made from Econyl, a yarn woven from waste fishing nets from the sea, fabric scraps from mills and carpets destined for landfill. It’s fully recyclable, so it can be endlessly regenerated into new products when its current life ends.
