The Finishing Touch

There’s a theory that you should invest in those design elements that you use every day, and that certainly includes hardware: a beautifully made door lever or pull-handle pays dividends every time you use it, thanks to its tactility and pleasing solidity. Luxury hardware company Turnstyle Designs of course knows all the advantages of well-crafted hardware, as its new Sonar and Echo collections attest.

Elevating kitchen cabinetry to new heights, Echo (pictured top) was inspired by the look of a range cooker and is designed to complement this classic British aesthetic, although it straddles both the traditional and the contemporary. Its gently rounded design includes a rolled inner edge, perfect for hooking a finger under to open a drawer – the kind of detail that makes sense practically, but looks elegant too. Sonar (pictured above) has a more linear, aerodynamic design, created to sit flush with the top of a drawer or door, with a statement lip.

Both collections are available in Turnstyle Design’s ‘living finishes’ (which achieve a patina with everyday use) or plated finish, and in five standard sizes from 50mm to 300mm, plus bespoke dimensions up to one metre.
