Designer Loves: Henry Prideaux Interior Design
As part of its First Look initiative, the Design Centre asked top designers to choose their favourite products from spring/summer 21’s collections. Amy Paice and Henry Prideaux of Henry Prideaux Interior Design outline their choices below and expand upon the creative thinking behind them.
Is there a particular piece out of the products you’ve chosen that you can’t wait to put in a scheme? How do you envision using it?
We would love to specify the ‘Broughton’ bobbin chair by Vaughan in the dark wood finish, upholstered in the ‘Fjord’ fabric from Lelièvre Paris, and the ‘Gresham’ stool from David Seyfried Ltd, upholstered in ‘Peru’ fabric from C & C Milano – both would look beautiful in a serene sitting room scheme.
Did you discover anything on the First Look colour wheel that surprised you?
Yes, we were pleasantly reminded that Vaughan supplies beautiful furniture as well as fab lighting.
Is there a colour you are consistently drawn to in your work?
We often love working with blue but oddly haven’t chosen anything from the ‘blue to purple’ selection on the First Look colour wheel in our final edit. We did love the ‘Brush’ fabric from Clay McLaurin Studio at George Spencer Designs though, so will be working that into a future scheme if we can…
What timeless colour should we all be embracing this year?
Blending different shades of green into a scheme brings a subtle sense of nature into the home and can create either soothing or vibrant spaces, depending on which tones you use and the other colours you choose to work with it.
