Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour showroom The Specified has opened Curated Expressions, a pop-up space on the Fifth Floor of Design Centre East, showcasing its products in a loft-style installation, including atmospheric artwork by Australian painter Greg Wood.
Products are showcased in a more liveable environment than the permanent showroom to be found one floor below, creating a complete expression of The Specified’s distinctive aesthetic viewpoint – warm, understated luxury that prioritises natural materials and sculptural forms.

The showroom is known for carrying a roster of acclaimed Australian brands (many of which are exclusive to the UK or Europe) including rugs from Armadillo, terracotta furniture from New Volumes, lighting from Ross Gardham and hardware from V.Brokkr.
The roomier environment on the Fifth Floor also allows for the inclusion of some larger pieces including the showroom’s first-ever furniture design, the ‘Custom’ sofa, an invitingly curved design. It’s upholstered in ‘Hennep’ hemp in Tuscan beige hemp from LF Trading, a Belgian brand known for its high-quality linen and other natural fabrics.

Greg Wood’s paintings (presented in collaboration with The Finch Project) continue the thread of championing Australian creativity. The artist’s ethereal landscapes, with their softened horizons and misty greys and greens, add another layer of atmosphere to the space. Rounding out the interior, vintage furniture from The Specified’s founder Vange Markou’s personal collection demonstrates how seamlessly the showroom’s contemporary designs resonate with earlier pieces.
Curated Expressions by The Specified is in situ until 19 December (Fifth Floor, Design Centre East), open Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm.
