Are you the next big thing?

Seeking the leading creative voices of tomorrow

Homes & Gardens has launched Next in Design, an initiative to recognise a new generation of talented creatives. With the aim to create “a more diverse, inclusive and vibrant design industry,” its first step is to find the NiD 2025 – 25 names that will have their business amplified by media coverage, networking events and tailored mentorship.

There are a few eligibility criteria: you must be the founder or co-founder of a studio or practice that is under five years old, with a team of fewer than five people, and have had limited media exposure. If that sounds like you, it’s free to enter to be considered, with applications opening on 4 March and closing on 18 March.

The Design Centre’s CEO Claire German has joined the Next in Design board, alongside interior designers Kit Kemp, Charu Gandhi and Alex Dauley, plus Ruth Mottershead, the creative director of Little Greene, and Sarah Spiteri, global brand director and group editor in chief of Homes & Gardens.

“Nurturing up-and-coming names gives a boost to the whole industry, and the Design Centre is already encouraging designers to be the best they can be – from the ever-popular Grow Your Business sessions at our shows, to our regular Ones to Watch slot in our Journal, and the launch of our new Careers Hub,” says Claire German. “We’re proud to champion their journeys and support their progress, and I can’t wait to discover even more new talent via Next in Design.”
