This bespoke wallcovering and surface design studio’s ethos is to put narrative at the heart of all it does, whether the end result is inspired by historical references, nature or contemporary art. Founded by Tijen Samuray, the Istanbul-based company creates high-resolution, large-scale artworks – including bespoke designs – offering a design-only service or full production.

Our designs and creations only find their true meaning and value when they reach their ultimate “home.” This achievement is the work of a village – a collaboration between artists and creators, alongside interior designers, architects, and contractors who guide a project from its first idea to its final state. At Designmixer, we believe Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour offers the perfect “village”, bringing together professionals from all over the world to join forces and allow them build meaningful, creative relationships.

The Designmixer showroom in Design Centre East
“Welcome to the exciting world of design” is both our original tagline and our brand motto. Now prominently displayed in our showroom, this sign is the first visual cue of our mission.
Our space combines a warm, inviting atmosphere with the bold patterns showcased on our main wall and sample panels. We view the showroom as the ultimate projection of our brand identity, featuring designs created to inspire anyone who inhabits the spaces they cover.
The showroom allows visitors to explore our vibrant swatches and creative concepts – available across a wide variety of premium materials – in a setting designed for comfort. It is the perfect environment for cosy, productive conversations with fellow design professionals. Here, they will find more than they expected: exceptional materials, striking patterns and our highly sought-after design consultancy services.
Our designs are no doubt visually striking on a large-scale screen or on any virtual surface. But their essence is best captured when the viewer is able to touch, feel and experience the luxurious-feeling material, see the product under the special spotlights, or notice the exquisite craftsmanship and the granular detail of the handpainting effects on a sample panel.
The showroom space also creates an inspirational environment thanks to the juxtaposed variety of our collections. Visitors are bound to get new ideas, and they can receive immediate design consultancy services from an experienced member of our team.

‘Caravan’ wallcovering
Designmixer is driven by the belief that walls are vessels for culture, emotion, and identity: they are more than mere surfaces, they are storytellers.
We view art, design, and materiality as a means to tell stories that transcend borders. Rooted in a cross-cultural perspective, we reinterpret history and global craftsmanship through a contemporary lens to create luxurious, bespoke wall designs and traditional handpainted İznik Çini tiles. Our work is defined by expressive patterns, rich materials and striking colours, embracing a bold, maximalist aesthetic. We transform spaces into immersive, statement environments that feel both powerful and deeply personal.
‘Caravan’, a marquee piece from our Silk Road collection, is one of the products I am most proud of. It perfectly captures our brand’s creative journey. Originally created as a bespoke mural, it serves as a brilliant example of how different cultures and histories intertwine across the globe by artistic illustrative details. What makes ‘Caravan’ truly special is the narrative behind its creation: by blending unique materials, like our signature gilded base wallpaper, with a mix of hand-painted and digital printing techniques, we’ve created a piece that resonates with clients worldwide. On a personal level, this design is dear to my heart, reflecting the same east-meets-west spirit of the ancient Silk Road that shaped my own upbringing and heritage.
Across creative disciplines, we are witnessing a definitive shift toward storytelling, individuality and immersive experiences. Walls are no longer just decorative; they have evolved into narrative surfaces that define a space’s identity. We weave together cross-cultural influences – art, history and contemporary design – into a singular, cohesive expression using unique printing painting techniques as well as materials.
They explore the dialogue between material innovation and heritage craftsmanship. Alongside our signature bespoke wall murals and wallpapers, we are introducing a refined range of tactile, high-character surfaces. Developed with specialised material compositions, these surfaces bring a new depth and sensory richness to interior walls.
A centrepiece of the collection is our handcrafted İznik tile series. Created using traditional İznik techniques, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, each piece balances the precision of heritage artistry with fresh architectural relevance. More than mere decorative elements, these are collectable design objects defined by rarity, material beauty and a modern respect for cultural history.

Most of our production is in Turkey. At Designmixer, every piece is tailored a project’s vision, scale and budget. Rather than fixed collections, we create bespoke solutions. Measurements are tailor made, colours and design elements can be modified and base qualities can change. These design services can provide huge flexibility for clients.
Our strength lies in combining technical knowledge with artistic direction. We work across a wide range of techniques – from digital and hand-printing to hand-painting and gilded surfaces – using materials such as silk, grasscloth, non-wovens and handmade papers. Our designs are not limited to wallpaper; they can be translated on to surfaces like tiles, metal, wood, plexi or fabric, allowing for a fully integrated spatial experience.
Designmixer’s presence at The Design Centre is not only the result of our brand’s global expansion, it is also is a carefully thought out, strategic step forward in our roadmap. Our showroom provides an opportunity for Designmixer to foster long-term collaborations and elevate the brand to a much higher level within an international context. We are looking forward to creating countless precious and unique spaces in collaboration with amazing interior designers and architects.
