This elegant collection of 11 luxury guest apartments is set within a beautifully restored 19th-century palazzo in the heart of Milan’s iconic Quadrilatero della Moda. The hotel was designed by Philip Vergeylen and Paolo Moschino of Paolo Moschino Ltd, in collaboration with Forte’s director of design Olga Polizzi, and balances the grandeur of Milanese architecture with the warmth and comfort of a private residence.

Original frescoes and decorative stuccos have been carefully preserved, while contemporary interventions bring light, space and modern luxury to this exceptional address. Featured throughout the interiors are bespoke lighting and furniture by Paolo Moschino Ltd, including the ‘Girl’, ‘Osiris’, ‘Helix’, ‘Philip’ and ‘Elsa’ table lamps, the ‘Orefeo’ floor lamp, ‘Leon’ armchair, ‘Optic’ chandelier and ‘Astral’ ceiling light, demonstrating how timeless craftsmanship can elevate every guest experience.

On Morocco’s Mediterranean coast, Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay is an idyllic coastal retreat with a focus on craft, culture and contemporary luxury. Its 55 suites and private villas, four restaurants, world-class spa and public spaces are enriched with marble mosaics, zellige tiles and works by emerging artists and artisans.

Muza Lab created the project’s interiors, and Design Centre showroom Porta Romana made 100 handcrafted items for the guest villas, suites and communal areas. This richly layered environment includes custom sizes of the ‘Othello’ lamp, ‘Clam Shell’ mirror, and ‘Twig’ mirror, as well as statement pieces such as the ‘Mushroom’ chandelier that reinforce the hotel’s narrative as a hub of artistry and design.

This magnificent neo-gothic Highland castle is now a private members’ club, developed by Discovery Land Company and with interiors by Kate Bingham, who has sensitively restored it to its former splendour. The three-year transformation was undertaken under strict conservation rules, with authenticity, longevity and craftsmanship balanced against the comfort and durability required for a busy members’ club.

Bingham made use of the Design Centre showrooms’ bespoke capabilities and experience with buildings of high historic value. Watts 1874 supplied custom colourways of Pugin-inspired, neo-gothic and damask designs, while George Smith made appropriately scaled furniture that would suit the vast proportions of the principal rooms. Set against soaring stone vaults, stained glass and dramatic gothic architecture, these handcrafted pieces bring warmth and character to the historic interiors.

Set high above the UNESCO-listed Val d’Orcia near Pienza, Casa Newton is defined by its distinctive terracotta-red facade and is surrounded by rolling Tuscan countryside. The 19th-century country house has been remodelled by owner and architect Antonie Bertherat-Kioes and her husband, Philippe Bertherat, and is now a nine-bedroom hotel and winery.

Textiles by Italian design house (and Design Centre showroom) Dedar help to create the hotel’s playful character. In the public areas, its tapestry-like ‘Schwarzveld’ fabric wallcovering has been used in two colourways – a fresh jewel-like green and more autumnal brown – while the architectural ‘Altronde’ runs up the sculptural staircase. These exuberant patterns are balanced with smart stripes and tactile plains.

Claridge’s Penthouse Suite is the epitome of London luxury. Designed by Paris-based Rémi Tessier, the suite includes four bedrooms, a library, gym, bar, rooftop garden (complete with pool) – and a number of artworks by Tessier’s friend, Damien Hirst.

Blending the hotel’s famous art deco heritage with every modern comfort, Tessier has used a luxurious palette of materials including green onyx and Lebanese cedar. The designer’s own Beyond Crystal collection for THG Paris was a natural choice for the brassware: incorporating Baccarat crystal, the taps capture and reflect the daylight that pours into the penthouse via its floor-to-ceiling windows. Bold cobalt blue crystal has been paired with an onyx vanity, while the quieter clear crystal version is used for bath taps, aiding the relaxation of a long soak.
