Founded in 1972, the Crafts Council is the UK’s national charity for craft. Its goal is to inspire making, empower learning and nurture craft businesses – celebrating, promoting and sharing the work of the sector to help people learn and discover craft in all its many facets, via shows, publications and its directory of makers, plus research, advocacy and collecting.
The Crafts Council promote life-long learning in craft. It advocates for increased access to making and craft education nationwide, to support the wellbeing and personal growth of children, young people and communities.
