Celia Dowson
Celia Dowson explores the interactions of light and surface through ceramic and glass. She adapts traditional modelling and casting techniques to create unique forms with a tactile quality that reflect on the natural world.
The glass pieces exhibited are carefully made by hand, carved on a lathe in wax before forming them in glass. Dowson’s explorations in colour and texture are a result of deeply reflective observations of landscape and nature. She creates pieces with a completive narrative that evoke on memory and place, broadening our perceptions of material behaves, and objects storytelling capabilities.
Celia Dowson is a 2019 Future Heritage alumnus.
