LIZZO-SENSEI-COLLECTION-(3)---trend-for-copper

Copper is perhaps the warmest metal of them all, offering a blush of colour that isn’t too hard or industrial. As a testimony to these qualities, It’s being used in every possible permutation in interiors this season, from fabrics and wallcoverings to furniture, lighting and accessories. Harlequin’s Anthology brand delivers with ‘Olon’ (above, top) a woven sheer with the ephemeral look of reflections on water, which complements several copper-toned wallpapers in the same collection. Lizzo’s ‘Sceni di Interni’ wallpapers and murals (above, centre) similarly show copper’s glamorous side, and are inspired  by the work of the Italian painter Elena Carozzi.
Original BTC goes for simple shapes and lets the beauty of the material do the talking for its Walter range, while for finishing touches, McKinney & Co has launched a new copper finish for its knobs and finials (above, bottom). Look out, too, for a copper version of Knoll Studio’s ‘Skeleton’ chair, designed by architect David Adjaye, at StudioTex; its copper plating will tarnish with age, another appealing virtue of this mellow metal.
