Gems in Glass

Bella Figura Diamond Light

Tapping in to the trend for darkly glamorous 1970s style, Bella Figura’s ‘Diamond’ lamps are made in Murano by the same glassworks that originally created similarly chunky, faceted pieces as vases and ashtrays 40 years ago. Each one is hand-blown and then hand-sanded, a process that takes two to three days per piece, but the results are inspiring – heavy and substantial, but with a gemstone-like glow of colour in amethyst, amber, smoke and petrol as well as clear glass. The Bella Figura showroom has recently been remodelled, with a cleaner look that beautifully shows off the lighting (much of which is inspired by 20th-century design) and a central marble-clad workbench, perfect for designers to come and spread out their moodboards and ideas.
